WHAT IS COACHING?
Coaching is a partnership between
"you" and the
"coach". A coach helps you to better understand yourself by helping you
to clarify what you value, what you want to do with your life, and
evaluating what steps you need to take to reach your ultimate goal.
A
coach looks for inconsistencies. Sometimes we live our lives in direct
conflict with what we say we believe and become the biggest obstacle
keeping us from being what we want to be. Coaches don’t "give" answers
they enable you to think for yourself; which is very different from a
counselor or a consultant.
A
counselor helps people deal with problems
in their lives usually by dealing with issues from their past and a
consultant is someone you hire who evaluates your situation and gives
you answers. Sometimes we just need a second "set of eyes" to help us
see a temporary blind spot.
